Major site update

Today I updated my site in many fields. Main part was the update to version 2.0.7 of Xoops. This version includes many bugfixes, so I thought it is good to do so! I’m also using the Version 1.2 from the News module now. Mithrandir and Herve really did an awesome job on this module.

The theme of my site is also new. But this one isn’t so graphical intense. I focused on XHTML and CSS compliance this time. But when I talk about time, I have to say that I’m short on it at the moment. So the site is in a workaround phase, but as it is my private website I think it won’t get out of this phase any time. There will probably be a few minor updates on the layout soon …

Also my photoalbum and the guestbook are currently not available. I will put them back online the next weeks.

Wysiwyg Patch for News module available

Are you tired of using the internal Xoops Editor? Than its time to apply this patch to your news module. It will integrate the Spaw Wysiwyg Editor (needs IE 5.5) in your news module. The Patch can be downloaded at www.xoops.org or at www.myxoops.de.

Configuration Settings

  • Wysiwyg Editor can be activated for Admin
  • Wysiwyg Editor can be activated for User submit
  • You can deactivate the linebreak conversion to avoid white space in front of the html code
  • Xoops Editor will automatically be displayed, if a user doesn’t have IE 5.5

Install Instructions

  • If the news module isn’t installed yet, install it through the modules administration firstly.
  • Overwrite the news module files included in Xoops 2.0.5 with the files in the package
  • After that update the news module

This patch doesn’t make any changes to the database! Only one class file has changed, in order to display the wysiwyg content correctly.

TinyContent v1.5 is available

Again a new version of TinyContent. You can download it at www.xoops.org or at www.myxoops.de! So what are the new features?

Changelog:

  • Printer friendly page
  • Send2friend
  • In wysiwyg mode, TinyContent detects the browser and automatically switches to the Xoops Editor if you aren’t using IE 5.5 or above
  • Bug fixed when disabling smilies
  • code cleaning

The new version is available in the modules section on this site. If you were using TinyContent v1.4, simply overwrite the files and update the module!

TinyContent v1.4 with new Features!

TinyContent is now available in version 1.4. You can get it in the download area at xoops.org. This version of tinycontent utilizes Xoops 2.0.5 functions and so it doesn’t work with older Xoops versions!!

New Features:

  • Deactivation of Linebreak Conversion possible, so there is no longer white space in front of included html-code
  • every content can be showed as a submenu item
  • you can choose between xoops internal editor and a wysiwyg editor. with the wysiwyg editor you can also include images into your content, which you have uploaded with the image manager

Other Features:

  • Comments can be activated/deactivated for single contents
  • every content can be set visible for the tinycontent block
  • upload, delete and wrap html-pages possible

In this version, the database is different to older versions. If somebody writes an update script, I will be very happy :-)

TinyContent v1.3 ready for download!

I just finished my work on version 1.3 of TinyContent for Xoops 2.0.x. TinyContent is a simple content module, where you can create content with the xoops built-in editor. Also you can add html files with the PageWrap function.

  • added comments feature
  • comments can be activated/deactived for every article
  • enhanced the PageWrap feature (upload/delete files through administration)
  • fixed minor bugs

For the ability to turn on/off comments on every article, I had to change the database a little. So current v1.2 users can’t simply overwrite the existing files. There is also no update script at the moment, sorry.

If anybody translates this module into another language please contact me or send me the language files. I would be happy to include it into the package.

The package can be downloaded at http://www.xoops.org or at http://www.myxoops.de.
